I am kind of like the “office clown” in that I love my job, I love my coworkers and I want to make sure that everyone has a good time. I’m the guy that brings everyone a birthday card, I make sure everyone has a skit ready for team building day and I double and triple make sure that everyone dances at the office parties.

Today I saw that one of our newer, younger workers seemed to be having a rough day so to lighten the mood I just very quickly said “hey you working hard or hardly working?” 99.9 % of the time people get a chuckle then go about their day. She asked what I meant and I said I was just lightening the mood.

She asked if I was serious and if I felt that “invading her space” was the way to improve her mood. I said I meant no offense but everyone else seems fo enjoy my humor. She said that no everyone “sees you as the office Ass kisser and everyone is afraid of you.” I said that’s not true. She said I was a major asshole if I don’t see thr reality.

I’m at such a loss, we are such a fun literal family to work for…AITA here?
