I’ll need to winterize my cabin within a month. this is my first winter here. I have a 1,700 gallon underground water tank that I use for showers, sinks, dishes…everything except drinking water. I get the water by pumping from a creek on the property. it runs through a couple filters and into the tank. ive been adding about 1 cup of bleach per 1,000 gallons. it is currently about half full, and won’t be used again until march next year.

will the water be fine sitting for the next 5 months or should I try to empty as much as possible? or…would it be better to top it off so that I dont need to pump spring run off when the water is a bit murky? also wondering if I need to add more bleach since it will be sitting for quite a while?

any input would be appreciate. thanks!
