I’ve come forth to confess my crimes. In 2009, at 13 years old, I made a YouTube video called ‘How to steal RuneScape accounts’
The idea was that you could hack someone else account by emailing an email I claimed was a jagex support email with your username and password + your targets username.
You’d then get access to the targets account.
Obviously, I owned that email. I received hundreds of emails over the duration I still monitored it.
Unfortunately (for 13 year old me at the time) this was at the time in RuneScapes life where you couldn’t trade more than 100k difference between players, so I couldn’t steal much. But young me was just enjoying that his stupid idea worked.
At the time I thought it was genius; in hindsight I can’t believe anyone fell for it.
On the slim chance that anyone here was one of the few who got caught by this, I am sorry 🙏 (But also you were trying to hack someone else soo)
