I recently started working at a spa as an attendant. Duties included attending to people, maintaining a clean environment, and shutting down the spa by breaking everything down before night crew arrives (which is usually pretty late.), and sometimes I need to go into these small spaces to drain the jacuzzis. None of that really bugs me, but something really creeped me out recently. In the electrical room where we keep extra carts I saw a dark silhouette of a humanoid figure standing in the corner. I tried to turn on the light, but the switch didn’t seem to do anything so I turned on my phones flashlight on and to my surprise there wasn’t anything. No hung towel, no stacked chairs, or weird box on the wall that could have made what I had saw. So when I turned off my flash one would expect to see the exact same optical illusion, but no. The corner was empty in the dark. There wasn’t that same silhouette from before. So logically I just chocked it up to my imagination and laughed it off, that was until I heard from a coworker that the place was “allegedly haunted” after I had shared the weird incident to him. More coworkers chimed in on the subject and talked about it casually as if it was nothing new. Truth be told I thought “haha very funny, trying to scare the new guy.”, but after asking another coworker if she had heard about the ghost she, like everyone else casually said she did and acted as if it was nothing to worry about. Ever since the incident I’ve had more things occur and honestly I’m not having it. If I didn’t need the money I’d quit, but unfortunately I can’t afford to lose my job and now I’m starting to think it picks on me the most because I’m usually the last to leave before night crew arrives and I’m usually alone. How am I suppose to keep myself “safe” (for a lack of better words.) can I wear something or maybe use something so it doesn’t bother me as much? I know this sounds ridiculous, but I’m starting to get a bit freaked out now.
