This is what Aleksander Lapshin tells:
Yesterday morning in Paris, I had a conversation with a couple of French politicians about pressuring Azerbaijan to release Armenian prisoners and hostages. I wanted to talk about this meeting and publish photos, but I won’t, and I’ll explain why. The French explained to me that at “this stage,” and after consultations with the Armenian side, they don’t consider it appropriate to intervene in the issue of Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan, since the Armenian leadership has fully taken charge of this “situation” and de facto doesn’t need the support of its foreign partners.
On the other hand, they offered me the opportunity to participate in a number of international forums, where they want me to publicize the crimes committed by the Azerbaijani authorities against me personally. They consider my case more promising for the media and the public. I, of course, agreed, although in my opinion, my story from seven years ago (given my victory against Azerbaijan in the European Court and the UN) is much less relevant to Europeans. But it turns out that, for political reasons, it’s precisely the Armenian prisoners and hostages that are less relevant, since they are being handled by the Armenian authorities.
That’s the news. Whether it’s good or bad is up to you to decide.
