Guy comes into the store today with a lightly used MS170. I went to write up for a ticket when he said the issue was he could not get it to start. I gave it a quick test and it had compression. Master control lever was off.

I said “lets step outside” and I told the guy I am going to assume it is flooded. I set it to warm start, I put it on the ground, I pulled the handle.

It started with one pull. It smoked like a chimney for a bit and then it cleaned out but did not stall ;-)

I didn’t charge the guy, gave him the “sermonette” on how to start a saw and sent him on his way with a smile.

Got myself a future customer.
