[see update at bottom of post]

I initiated a swap in CakeWallet from USDT to XMR. CakeWallet chose to use Exolix even though I had this provider disabled. Exolix took my USDT and is not giving me my XMR.

Here is the full proof that I am making public:

  1. Ethereum transaction (link removed)
  2. Exolix transaction (originally stuck in state “Exchanging”) | original archive

It wasn’t bad enough that I paid an absurdly high transfer fee for Ethereum.

Learn from my foolishness and never use Exolix. There have been prior incidents of Exolix stealing funds, but the mods of this subreddit have not added it to the list of known scammers. See Reddit threads 11hgrl5 and j428i2.

Exolix web page says to wait up to two hours, and this time has long passed.

Thus far I have received a number of useless chat requests from spammers and scammers on Reddit who have only tried to scam me further.

The bigger question is: Why is CakeWallet going out of its way to facilitate known scammers?

Update 1: After legally threatening CakeWallet, and them taking strong efforts to engage with Exolix, I have received my XMR. It took Exolix a lot longer than the upper bound of the originally promised time. I hope that Cake takes concrete steps to monitor and filter their swap providers.
