I feel ridiculous for seeing this through, there was no forensic evidence and it was definitely he said she said. I humiliated myself in front of the court (including the locals who showed up to support him) having to answer the defence lawyers questions and explain old texts, my drinking habits, his stating to the court multiple times that I am a liar.
I live in a remote town of 1000 people that is very tight knit and I don’t see how I can ever rejoin the sports I used to play, go out to my favourite bars and restaurants, take a walk around the village. The past year and a half he was on order to avoid me but that’s over now.
I know what happened, surely he does too? Or does he believe it didn’t? Is there comfort in knowing he may feel guilt? Do I have to leave my beloved little town? I don’t feel welcome here anymore
