Background information: PaleoWorld (as its called in the US, and Jurassica in the UK) aired on the TLC channel (The Learning Channel) from 1994-1998. It covered the fossils, and history of dinosaurs (mostly), pterosaurs, and other animals. It follows a simple layout (not exact, just a rough layout to give you an idea): 1) Narrator introduces the subject of the episode, 2) Intro song, 3) Showing the location where the subjects fossil has been discovered, 4) We’re then introduced to a paleontologist (sometimes the ones who discovered the fossil) that delves into the fossil, the location, how it was found, then into the subject itself - it continues like that until the end of the episode where it rolls the credits with a song in the background. It spanned 4 seasons, and 50 total episodes.
What’s lost: Most of the series is actually readily available online. However there is a couple of episodes missing from the the last season, season 4. Those episodes would be S04E05: Valley of Venom, and S04E11: Troodon: Portrait of a Killer. The valley of venom episode is actually on YouTube, but in Spanish. So the English version is still missing, but at least the footage is there. However, the same cannot be said for S04E11, it’s completely missing. User Dinosaur Documentaries (on YouTube, and Science Documentaries on Dailymotion) claims on a YouTube thread that those two episodes were never released on DVD, VHS, or recorded from TV (for reference this is before the discovery of the Spanish episode). This would add up as PaleoWorld DVD listings on eBay, such as this set don’t come with those two episodes. Apparently IMDb lists a fifth season with a couple of episodes, but I found no information about this anywhere, no mentions or anything, this is just listed on IMDb from what I found.
Extra: There is another thread started by u/ALonesomeDove in which a person claimed they have the Troodon episode, as well as some others, which they got from eMule ages ago. They said that they would upload the episodes to YouTube, however there is no update yet, and they said this two years ago. Dove replied to them over a year ago asking for links, no replies. I also sent them a reply a couple of hours ago before making of this post, and I have yet to get a reply. So, so far, the only hope and leads of possibly finding these episodes is that user which claimed to have at least the Troodon episode, u/tempest-87, and eMule. I tried to set up eMule, but had no luck, if anybody can give that one a go, be my guest.
