I have Hashimotos and was diagnosed around 10 years ago with hypothyroidism. I wasn’t told I had an autoimmune condition so I took my levothyroxine and resumed living life. The doctor never increased my medication and I stayed at 50 mcg for 10 years. My TSH has been stable at around 4. The doctors have always said I was at a normal range. I eventually realized I had an autoimmune condition and had two positive antibodies test done (8 years ago). I decided to try AIP to see if I can feel better and get my TSH lower without upping my medication. I got my thyroid panel done before starting AIP and 45 days into it. Before starting it, my TSH was 3 (after quitting added sugar). My TSH after doing AIP for 45 days was at 1.3 (the lowest it’s ever been!!) The doctors told me AIP would probably not help me since I’m not in the early stages of having my autoimmune condition. I’m extremely happy right now that I don’t need to up my medication and that I feel so much healthier.
