I’ve had a modded switch for about 5 years. Recently I bought an RP4 Pro and have decided to return it because I can do basically everything I wanted to do with it on my switch.
You have:
-
Smooth emulation up to PSP/PS1/Dreamcast
-
Option for OLED
-
Native Switch games (obviously) + overclocking
-
Detachable controllers + easily dockable
-
Very convenient DS emulation with a vertical joycon grip
-
Android and Linux support
-
Pretty lively homebrew scene
-
Easy to customize, lots of custom themes + shell swap options
Honestly if playing switch games in addition to emulating systems below PS2/GC is a priority for you I would highly highly recommend getting a modded switch. In my case, a lot of the PS2/GC games I want to play already got ports/remasters on the switch anyway. The switch’s library is pretty insane all things considered lol
sorry if this post is redundant I just don’t feel like it’s discussed as much as it should be :)
