This could definitely just be something that happens to me, but why do I feel like I’m constantly being told either “calm down” or something else like that when I’m already calm.

Like yesterday my boyfriend and I were at the gym and there was a random weight next to us that we weren’t using and weren’t going to use. At some point someone must’ve taken it. He then started loudly (loud enough, I was worried, for the person who took it to possibly hear and feel embarrassed) saying “what happened to the weight that was right here? where did it go? someone must’ve taken it” So I quietly said “does it really matter?” and then his whole demeanor changed and he said “why are you so getting upset?”

I don’t understand how it was ME that was upset, and I hate how me trying to stop him from freaking out over literally nothing turns into me needing to calm down
