I wanted to buy EU5 through pdx store to use a creator affiliate link, but I was met with the “xsolla” payment window.
So I haven’t directly used paradox store in a good few years, so I have never heard of this payment processor before and it looked shady as hell (wtf is xsolla gold?). So naturally I looked them up and it turns out that this is a weird fintech company originally founded in Russia that moved to the US and whose claim to fame is continuing to operate in Russia post 2022 and having a ton of allegations of poor employee treatment, inappropriate handling of founder’s private and corporate accounts, and horrendous customer support.
At this point, I’m just gonna have to buy the game directly through Steam. I can’t in good faith support this company, and I especially don’t trust them with my credit card info. I really don’t understand why Paradox decided to work with them.
