Perhaps it is still recency bias, but I just don’t really see myself ever reaching for a bike with narrow tires again after seeing the gravel light.

I’m certainly not as fast on the Gravel bike, but I am so much more comfortable that I am riding much more. I ride mostly in a city with terrible streets, or getting out into nature with rutted sandy roads. The gravel just makes more sense. It is liberating to jump curbs, and go through things with fat tires vs choosing paths super cautiously on my roadbike.

So far I haven’t let roadies blowing past me hurt my pride, and honestly I can real on a lot of them on this bike. I am just wondering if putting my Cervelo out to pasture will end up being a regret once the newness wears off. This will be ridden 89% in places where a road bike will be faster, but will I care?
