I’ve heard too many stories from women stating that their partner looks to them for every single thing. Every issue around the house, it’s on you, advice on what to eat, what to buy, what to say, etc. Since it’s Reddit and these are advice subs the advice is always “dump them!” But as we all know, we can’t solve all of our problems by ending our relationship. My advice across the board for this is just to stop. They depend on us for everything because we have the answer for everything. When they ask us how long to microwave their leftovers we tell them. When they ask us two million times what to get at the store and then call us from the aisle to ask which one and make us send them a picture so they’ll get it right, we do all that. We need to stop. Either they can handle it or they can’t. If they don’t learn and grow, we can ask them to figure it out. If they don’t we can move on. We’re not doing ourselves any favors by holding their hands through everything. Stop.
