Saw a post on instagram that genuinely got me so heated I made this account to come here and complain.

Its from a trans influencer and its a series of images talking about how to identify if you have internalized transphobia. One of them is wishing you were cis instead and she used the argument that its the same as a gay man wishing he were straight instead due to society telling them it is wrong. That trans people just need to “accept themselves” and “be proud of being trans” since there is nothing wrong with it.

And sure, there is nothing wrong with being trans, but why is not being proud of it internalized transphobia? Why is wishing I didnt have gender dysphoria and cis wrong?

She tells people in her comments that they need to “reframe” being trans.

I, stupidly, left a comment basically saying I dont think its wrong for people to wish they didnt have a disorder that affects every day of their life and prevents many from forming normal social bonds and relationships, and has us spending insane amounts of money just to treat gender dysphoria.

And she called that “derogatory nonesense”

I dont even think people need to be miserable all the time, I can see where some people can reframe it as a like, overcoming a bad hand dealt to them and whatnot, but I dont think its wrong if other people dont.
