As we know, in episode 4 of Season 3 of One Punch Man, Child Emperor says he researched Genos and concluded he didn’t trust him, therefore, Genos should be “excluded” from the operation.

04:22

The problem with this lies in the reasoning. Child Emperor points out that Genos lives in City Z, aka “The Ghost Town”, where the Monster Association Hideout is. And then, says that: “Genos is a newcomer and hasn’t proven himself to gain our full trust”. Now, why is that is problem? The problem is that this statement is just completely wrong. More often than not, we can see Genos completely beaten because of monsters, and some of them being Monster Association Monsters. Child Emperor seems to fully trust King, and King has seen Genos fight G4 in the last season. Genos also almost died to Deep Sea King and Elder Centipede, with multiple witnesses to both examples. And still, Child Emperor says that “Genos hasn’t proven himself”, although he did.

In that same episode, only some moments later, Child Emperor wants to exclude Bang from the operation because he suspects Bang held back because of “attachment to his former disciple”.

05:40

Even though the statement isn’t completely wrong, excluding Bang is an outrageous decision by itself. Why? Because Garou isn’t the only “monster” in the Monster Association. Child Emperor said that “they couldn’t take any risks”. Since Tornado isn’t able to use her full power and Blast is unavaiable, Bang, being the 3rd ranked hero, should theoretically be the strongest person known (Besides King) to fight the monsters. So why remove Bang from the operation just because of the chance of him running into Garo, ignoring completely the other monsters?

Another thing that doesn’t make much since is the fact that Child Emperor knows about the Monster Association saving Garo.

05:56

So, why would he think Bang “let Garo slip away”? Isn’t it more logical to think the Monster Association helped him? That’s assuming he didn’t know about the existence of Elder Centipede, which he should, it was a Dragon Level Threat.

Also, Child Emperor’s logic is very flawed, since there are a lot of heroes that should be “suspicious” to him rather than Genos and Bang. Want a very easy example? Zombieman. Besides the fact that he’s literally grey with red eyes, his past is probably way more hidden than Genos, he’s a professional spy and his regeneration ability is often seen in monsters rather than humans.

Another example? Amai Mask. I know his whole thing is being a hidden monster, but let’s be for real, Do-S is a Demon Level Threat not for her physical abilities, but her powers. And still, she was able to crack Amai’s Mask with her tongue. So… Are you telling me the guy’s mask has never cracked before? He has never been hit by a Demon Level Monster that focuses on his strenght before? We’ve seen his mask break against Pesky Clown in the manga, so that never happened before? Since Child Emperor is able to somehow know that the town Genos was born “disappeared from the map”, wouldn’t he be able to find any kind of video or information about his face cracking? (And the guy’s hero name is literally Sweet MASK, for crying out loud)

If Child Emperor is really that concerned about traitors, why not look at the people who don’t want to participate? Metal Knight and Watchdog man. Like… Watchdog Man’s concept isn’t even that different from Phoenix Man in the first place, so it’s not a stretcht to say that monsters could be consistently born from people wearing costumes. Why not look at the guy with a costume, that is strangely strong?

Even if you think the logic behind Watchdog Man is weak, you have to consider what Child Emperor was saying about Bang and Genos. It’s more reasonable to think Watchdog Man is a traitor than excluding Bang from the battlefield. I could talk about more examples of how wild this statement is, like, Drive Knight’s whole thing of “disappearing” while exploring City Z alone. We’ve seen multiple robot monsters, isn’t THAT suspicious?

Child Emperor did all that research and for nothing. And the thing that really makes me mad is the fact that he’s able to make a little suit strong enough to endure one of Homeless Emperor’s exploding balls.

And make Brave Giant to “beat Orochi”, but couldn’t make the locators slighly… Stickier? So Flashy Flash didn’t lose them in battle. Hell, instead of doxxing Genos he could make cameras as strong and fast as that dog suit to follow monsters around in Z City, since making Brave Giant didn’t seem like a hassle, flying drones with cameras shouldn’t be too, right? We also know that strenght enchancing suits and tech exist in the OPM universe, so if they’re not taking any risks, why not make those? Even if Tornado doesn’t accept it, people like PPP, TTM, Darkshine, Metal Bat and ESPECIALLY Genos would accept them if the association told them to. Even Bang, Flashy and Atomic could accept something like that.

With the drones he could’ve gotten actual information, who knows? I just think he used all that “inteligence” for very pointless things, even if the locators were a good idea, why does it have the most obvious flaw of “losing it mid battle”? With all that inteligence he could’ve easily enchanced some of the heroes.

So, in conclusion: His idea of excluding Bang and Genos could’ve sold the heroes very hard due to many important things both of them did. And even if the locators were a good idea, the execution was very questionable, and he could’ve done way more if he’s that smart. So, I highly believe he isn’t, and is just another “potential man”.
