I am honestly annoyed at how casually men bring this up in conversation with me. Men I hang out with, friendly, romantically, physically, strangers, acquaintances, etc.

I am in my mid-20s, I would say I am an average looking woman with average features. I was obese as a teenager, and have mostly maintained a healthy weight for my adult life so far. I am not anyone I’d consider to be physically special, conventionally attractive, or exotic even. Just your regular, everyday kind of lady.

Given that, I am always a little offput by men in my life suggesting that I just start up an OF page, because I’d make so much money… Whether the conversation was about finances or not, it’s always about how much money I could potentially make.

All respect for those who choose to do sex work, but its definitely not something I have ever had serious interest in. It’s so obviously more complicated than posting a few pictures and videos and boom, money, but men don’t seem to understand this. They do not understand that the average creator isn’t making a significant amount of money. It is often a lot of work for little payout in the end.

Am I supposed to take it as a compliment? Because, “you should start an OF, you’d make so much money” just doesn’t come off as a compliment to me.

Has anyone else experienced this?
