I’m not sure if this is the right sub but I found some others posts like this here so I hope it’s the right place for this.

So I made a big mistake I already know I just need some words of wisdom or if anyone has experienced the same.

I was turning right at a red light after coming to a complete stop I looked to see if anymore cars were turning left across the intersection and I saw none. I started to go right when I saw a car coming super fast to make a left at the light. I stopped with plenty of time and space for that vehicle to get through. No big deal. Then I continued on behind him and he flipped me off.

I kinda threw my hands up like “wtf did I do” kinda thing and he slammed on his brakes to a complete stop, got out and starting screaming and coming towards me so I threw it in reverse and drove around him (there was enough space on a one lane road) my house was close by and so I kinda just panicked and dove home but I took a different way and he still found me. I couldn’t get my door unlocked fast enough before he ran up to me screaming threatening he was gonna kick my ass and saying how “I know where you live now, I’ll be back” and kept getting closed till we were face to face and I was backed up against the door. I deescelated enough to get him to drive off. I only got a partial plate and a good description of the guy and car.

I called the police and they basically told me I shouldn’t have driven home I should have called right away and kept driving or gone to the police station. And if he comes back then call.

I know I screwed up by going home and not calling the police earlier but what’s done is done. I own a firearm and have my concealed carry permit but I didn’t have it on me at the time.

I’m worried he’s gonna slash my tires or break into my house or something in the middle of the night and I don’t own camera. (Just ordered 2 on Amazon)

What should I do?
