I have been jumping between Narwhal and the official Reddit app when browsing on my phone. While the Reddit app is full of bloat, Narwhal is missing a lot of ease of use features.
For example the search on Narwhal takes way too many steps. When you go to view comments, you can’t refresh by pulling down. Gestures are weird, the look and feel is a bit off, and many other interactions need multiple steps too.
Im finding myself dealing with the ads on the reddit app just to not have to deal with the extra clicks and interactions needed to do the things I want.
It really feels like Reddit made a deal with Narwhal because they knew they could compete while they killed Apollo (and other apps) that they can’t compete with in terms of the experience.
