I’m in Australia, just for reference and today is Friday.

So I had an interview that went really well for a design/marketing role at a coffee roastery last Tuesday but didn’t hear back. I sent an email to my interviewer on Friday thanking her for her time and expressing my interest further, etc. Still crickets.

Then this past Tuesday, a creative agency followed and DMed me on Instagram saying they heard through the grapevine I was looking for work so I looked at their website and apparently, my interviewer also works there.

I replied saying I was interested so the director of the agency gave me a call right away and sounded really excited, said she stalked my IG and website and loved my work, and also told me that my interviewer at the coffee roastery was leaving the coffee job to work at the creative agency full time and had interviewed me to take over her position. She said the interviewer loved my work too so she also shared it with her.

I said I was really keen for the job since I hadn’t gotten a response about the coffee place so she said she’d send me an email the next day (Wednesday) about when to come in. She asked if I could start asap and I said I could start tomorrow. She said that’s perfect and then I was like yay I’m so excited and she was like yay me too (paraphrasing here).

Wednesday passed, no email. Thursday passed, no email. I sent her a message in IG (bc she originally messaged me there) yesterday (Thurs) but she didn’t open it until today (Fri) 4 hours ago but didn’t reply, still no word from her or the girl with the coffee job.

Now it’s Friday arvo, 3:30 pm and I’m just like wtf?? Red flag?? Was I played?? Was it all a test?? Should I just forget about this whole thing?? I’m so disappointed bc I thought I was perfect for either job.
