I’m (31F, cis presenting) going through a divorce right now. Things are honestly about as amicable as they could be. I’m not dating yet, but am enjoying going out on the weekends.

2 weekends in a row, I’ve had men (older, by like 15+ years) come up behind me and rub my back. Both times, I had to physically remove their hands and tell them to stop touching me. Last night, I started squirming in my chair and was about ready to start thrashing the third time I said something if he didn’t stop. Thankfully, his buddy picked up on it quick and pulled him away. Ironically, the dude from last night knew a 3rd dude who did the same shit to me a few months ago.

I don’t get it. I don’t mind the small talk, or guys offering to buy me a drink (I decline), or any of the other typical bar behavior. I’m not naïve - if I’m at a bar, I’m gonna get hit on. But what is with men - and older men at that - thinking that it’s somehow okay to touch women without any sort of initiation or encouragement from the woman.

Anyone else deal with this??
