How is the teachers sub, of all subs, sexist and racist? I honestly think female-centric subs are the only place I can find people who actually acknowledge institutional inequities besides classism. Any time I bring up institutional sexism, people call me sexist, and any time I mention the ways our actions perpetuate racism, people call me racist. Even among teachers. What the fuck, Reddit?

Edit to add: Maybe my personal experience with teaching just isn’t the norm. In California, a huge part of our teacher training consists of learning how to differentiate instruction for students of all abilities and backgrounds and honor their differences, and my school pushed even harder on the anti-racism after the BLM protests in 2020. I also teach elementary, which seems to be wildly different in the attitudes of teachers toward students… I swear a lot of high school teachers don’t even like kids.
