I am disturbed. Yesterday at a shopping center, while we were waiting for an elevator, an obviously drunk or stoned guy came up behind us, looked my daughter, WHO IS 11 YEARS OLD, up and down, and said, “Hey baby girl, how are you doing,” in exactly as sleazy a voice as you might be imagining.

My daughter asked if we could take the stairs instead, and we immediately did. She kept apologizing once we were away from the guy (I have a bad knee and stairs are brutal), but I said, “You never have to apologize to me for wanting to feel safe.”

Why are people this disgusting? She’s ELEVEN. And, while it would still be gross, she’s 11 that looks like what she is — a tween. She’s over 5 feet tall, but clearly still very young. I mean, WTF?
