Maybe I (22F) have a high libido, IDK, but I remember basically just downloading the knowledge of how to masturbate/orgasm randomly around 12-13 when I found it felt ~really good~ when I squeezed my legs together really hard. I didn’t really know what an orgasm was supposed to feel like but I quickly assumed whatever I felt was it.
It was pretty much entirely organic, I never was told much at all about masturbation or, GOD FORBID, how to do it, it was only ever mentioned very briefly and vaguely before that.
I went on to masturbate quite a bit growing up and definitely felt weird about it as absolutely NO other girls I knew talked about it. Even when everyone started having sex, no one even mentioned the word.
I remember any time the subject would be brought up, everyone would just deny it and, even into adulthood, I’ve met girls that have straight up denied ever doing it before or during being sexually active.
I no longer feel weird about it, I think masturbation is one of the best things on the planet: no pregnancy risk, no std risk, no shitty partner who won’t satisfy you. I’ve actually never been in a relationship or been sexually active and, besides the intimacy/cuddling, don’t feel like I’m missing pleasure in my life. I’m able to bring myself to climax pretty much every time.
I have a good assumption of why women would deny masturbating or not talk about it (purity culture, shame associated with masturbation, sex being socially acceptable but masturbation not as much), I just want to know if anyone else has similar experiences regarding the subject cause I’m sick of feeling alone.
