I recently went to a new gynecologist and she asked me some questions like when I got my first period and I realized that I (27) have no idea when that happened.

Like I have zero memories of it, I couldve been 10yo or 14yo, I have no damn clue.

She got a bit annoyed with me and basically looked at me like I was crazy or stupid for not remembering it. She said every woman she knows, knows when and where she got her first period, down to the exact date.

Is that true? That sounds ridiculous to me. I mean, having that exact date in your mind at all times?

But she swore that all women remember it, because it was such a big beautiful event, that turned a girl into a woman (yikes?).

My only explanation is that I had pretty good sex education from an early age, so I guess my period just wasnt a big deal for me. It probably wasnt more eventful than a nosebleed. I def never saw my period as a magical thing that transformed me into something else.

My first memory concerning my cycle is from when I was 17 and anorexic. I lost my period for 6 months and my old doctor told me to just take the pill (another yikes).

Anyone else here also doesnt remember their first period? Am I crazy for this?
