When I got divorced five years ago, I felt like I got a second chance at life. I was married at 22 because of evangelical Christian purity culture, and I felt trapped and deeply unhappy for seven years. Recently, I’ve been reading that the far right is hoping to eliminate no-fault divorce and it has reinforced how lifesaving divorce can be for so many women/femmes.
In the post-Roe era, anything that protects our ability to choose our future is on the chopping block.
