i love him more than anyone and we’ve built a beautiful little life together, but after a series of personal/family tragedies in my life i have come to realize just how emotionally illiterate/unavailable he is and its breaking my heart.

i try to be fair in my perspective, i don’t expect him to rescue me or meet my every need. i go to therapy and talk with friends. outside of this emotional bonding issue we have a loving and healthy relationship, but that’s a big exception, isn’t it?

i feel like a little piece of me shatters every time i try to express my innermost feelings and am met with a blank stare.

i was just wondering if anyone here has experience in healing a relationship with an issue like this? i know i can’t control other people, i do believe he would be willing to explore the topic further, but when he asks me what exactly i am asking of him i don’t have a clear answer.

apologies for rambling
