This is a follow-up to my last post (on this sub) regarding my dilemma.

On Sunday R asked if I wanted to go to chipotle (off-campus) and that he’d pay for it. I told him I already had plans with another (girl) friend (MG) at 6:30 (I actually did). He’s like “so I’ll meet you at the dining hall at 6:30?” clearly not getting the message that I WASN’T available to “hang out” with him. Essentially, he was inviting himself into my already concrete plans. I ended up cancelling on both of them because I just couldn’t bring myself to deal with him. It’s a shame because I really was looking forward to meeting up with MG.

After talking to my mom (who said I need to be more direct and firmer with him but not mean) last night about everything that had happened the past week, I finally mustered up the courage to send this to him “I don’t know where you’re going with this, but I’m not interested in socializing or hanging out one on one. If I see you around at the esports lounge, we can get in a couple of games together, but I have other things going on right now and I’m trying to get to know other people.” Then I blocked him b/c I felt guilty and was worried how he’d respond to it.

Fast forward to tonight, I went to the dining hall and ran into two of my (girl) friends (MA and MK). They asked how things were, and I explained everything that had happened with R. They asked what his name was, and I told them. They were like “oh that explains a lot!” They somehow know him too. MK was saying he doesn’t understand boundaries. (For example, she’s not a hugger and he would hug her goodbye and all that uncomfortable shit.) MA said he’s just awkward to be around. These are just a few of the things they told me. They both said I was right to block him and that I shouldn’t feel bad for doing so.

This is where shit gets WILD. Apparently they encountered him a few days ago and somehow the topic of him having a girlfriend came up and he was like “yeah I have a girlfriend! Her name is [kates_a_dancer]! We met at the esports lounge!” They said they didn’t make the connection at the time (didn’t think he was talking about me) but now it all made sense!

WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK. I NEVER EVEN AGREED TO BE HIS GIRLFRIEND! HE NEVER BROUGHT IT UP WITH ME! I’m so glad I blocked him.

I am in complete disbelief and don’t even know what to say or think right now. I guess I just wanted to rant. Thanks for reading!
