To elaborate, I’m looking for movies in which you might see something new with every watch or where a director has included some enigmatic references or symbolism that might not be obvious upon first viewing or without being informed. A few examples:

• Steven Spielberg with references to other films and Ready Player One’s pop. culture references

• David Koepp (Secret Window and his use of the mirror, hats, and framing)

• Joaquim Dos Santos & Kemp Powers & Justin K. Thompson with Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse and the pop. culture references

• Martin Scorsese (his subtle foreshadowing, using of the letter ‘X’ in scenes with characters set to die in The Departed)

BTW, I’ve listed some specific MOVIES here; but, if there are instances in other movies by the directors mentioned above, feel free to mention them, as well.
