I started AIP a little over a week ago when I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. I never really felt “bad” before other than the hair loss and the feeling that I’d like to lose a few pounds (which I have). How do I know that this diet is working for me? How do I know when I can introduce foods back and which foods I can’t have? Am I just supposed to wait and see which foods make my hair fall out? Are there other signs I can look for to determine if adding a food back is harmful? Do people stay on the elimination diet without adding anything back in forever? FWIW I don’t plan to add anything back for at least another month or more until I’ve gone back to the dermatologist to see how my regrowth is.
