Since i was young ive never understood how rainfall is measured in inches. I’ll hear in the news that were expected to see 2-3 inches of rain per hour (currently in the middle of a brutal storm). How is this determined? Wouldnt inches all be determined by the size of the “container” or the locations terrain, rather than the amount of rainfall. Thank you
