Disclaimer: I do not plan to do this, I’m just curious about thermodynamics.

Say you usually eat the reccomended 2000 calories a day, but one day (christmas for example) you ate like 10,000 of calorie dense foods. At 3600kcal surplus to gian 1lb, would you gain 2lbs immmediately within eating… or would it take a few hours?

Or does weight gain require you eating those additional 8000 calories over the course of a week?

Conversely, if you went 43 hours without eating ( so -3600 kcal, would you have 1lb less body fat (or worse 1lb less of muscle (or 0.5lb less of fat 0.5lb less of muscle?)) by the 43 hour mark?)
