Earlier today, I was looking over old Modern lists and remembered that cards like [[Tasigur, the Golden Fang]], [[Hooting Mandrills]], and [[Gurmag Angler]] used to be top-tier threats in Modern.

Whatever happened to them? Fury only kills Madrills, not Tasigur or Angler. Is Solitude just too oppressive against creatures that have such a large cost required to cast them? Is Murktide just a better option if you plan on Delving away your graveyard?

I’m just surprised a 4/5 or 5/5 for B isn’t fast enough for Modern.
